William “Bill” Chatt is a Shareholder at Cervantes Chatt & Prince and heads up the commercial litigation group.  Bill prosecutes cases involving contractual issues, corporate governance, director and officer liability, employment contracts, defective construction, real estate, insurance, and creditor rights amongst other areas.  Bill also practices in the area of Association law and represents associations in areas of collections, governing document interpretation and modification, and general counsel. 

 

Bill has an undergraduate degree from Roosevelt University where was recognized on the Dean’s List, Departmental Honors and was admitted to Delta Mu Epsilon Xu Chapter.  Bill received his Juris Doctor degree from DePaul University. 

 

Prior to becoming an attorney, Bill owned a distribution company which helps him bring a unique perspective in his representation of clients.  Bill represents a number of privately held entities and advises them in acquisitions, sales, financing, drafting of documents, and governance issues.

 

Bill is active in a number of trade organizations focusing on offering legal guidance to its members including the Association of Condominium Townhouse and Homeowners Associations (ACTHA), the Illinois Chapter of the Community Associations Institute (CAI) and writes and speaks on a variety of topics.
